Accommodation & Grubs

As a stand-alone operator and not affliated with any resorts/accommodation has its advantages. That means, we are free to recommend our divers where to stay without being obligated. Having choices are always good in our book. Accommodation on Perhentian Islands are mostly basic. Most are fan-cooled chalet with attached bathroom. Standards are generally ok – clean with western-style bathroom. There are also aircon accommodation and two doors down from our dive center is the brand new Arwana Resort, a 4 star facility.

On our beach (Teluk Dalam), there are 7 accommodation options. We can assist in securing room bookings for you at no charge.

Everfresh Chalet

Located on the far end from our dive center. Rooms are basic, fan-cooled. Nice snorkeling of the beach towards Sharks Point. What we don’t like is the quality of the rooms and monster size mosquitoes (no kidding). Price range from RM40-80

Flora Bay I

  
Attached to Perhentian’s only IDC center, Flora Bay Divers, Flora Bay I has good selection of chalets, fan and aircon. Rooms are better quality and while its restaurant is one of the best on the beach serving both local and western fares. Seaview rooms are limited. Priced at from RM60-150

Fauna Beach Chalet

One of our favorites, Fauna has nice selection of seaview and garden view rooms. Priced from RM40-80 and the restaurant serves good food. Try the seafood pizza (with spicy chili, yum!) and seafood BBQ.

Flora Bay II

   
A newer version of Flora Bay I, rooms are far nicer here. Nice furnishing, clean and has combination of bungalow/chalet to double-storey garden-view rooms. Prices from RM50-175. Similar food menu selection with its sister chalet, Flora Bay I

Ocean Blue

Only 10 bungalows, Ocean Blue’s only attraction is its “fluffy” goose-feather pillows. Located right beside our dive center, it is convenient. Rooms are garden view only. If you stay here, avoid the back rooms (6-10). You will be serenaded with the “humming” of Ocean Blue’s and our own generator sets at night. Chalet costs RM60.

Samudra

Logistically, Samudra is ideal. A breath away from our dive center, rooms are ok, although can use a bit of sprucing up. Good value for money is its seaview chalets, you can literally hop out from the balcony and into the sea. Decent restaurant but service can be painfully slow. A warning here: Keep your valuables well stashed. We have heard complains of lost cash (foreign currencies) from our divers. Prices from RM25-60

Arwana

Brand new and one of its kind, Arwana is a sprawling 4 star luxury. Swimming pool, spacious rooms, spa.. list goes on. Price starts at RM160 and rooms are all aircon and fitted with hot water shower. Very nice. For budget-conscious divers, there is a fan dorm (very cozy) available priced at RM25 per person per night.
