Season Opening 2007

We've been getting a lot of emails from friends and customers to ask us why the delay in updating our news from the island blog.  We can assure you it wasn't intentional, although we do admit we have been slacking in posting updates of late (well, as you can see, the last update was in August).

Truth be told, we've been busy setting the stage for a grand re-opening next season with a brand new facade & facility but with the same old passion for diving (we love the Perhentians!).  Thanks to the tremendous support from our customers and friends of Alu Alu, we are once again expanding.

We will be open for business from February 17th 2007 until end of November.

Come and celebrate the season opening with us!

We've been a busy bee last season.  Although Perhentians suffered from the "World Cup Blues", the crowds returned with a vengeance in June onwards. We were happy to play host to some familiar faces and also new faces enjoying what the island has to offer - sun, sea and lots of great diving

We are indeed blessed!

As promised, we will kick start the new season with promises to make your dive holiday in Perhentians unforgettable. We welcome ideas and feedbacks from our friends on anything new you want us to do next year. Email us with your brilliant ideas and in return, we will send you a newly- designed Alu Alu t-shirt as a token of our appreciation.

Watch this space for a slew of new products coming your way.  Fancy a camp & dive safari to Pulau Bidong anyone?  We've been told camping on a deserted & mysterious Pulau Bidong is an adventure not to be missed..... How about it?

See you soon!

Bidong diving is nice..went there over the monsoon. Don't forget Pulau Yu Kecil and Pulau Yu Besar...superb location also.

I have a suggestion..during my stay in Bidong I heard that the nearby "Skull Island" or Pulau Tengkorak is a nice place to dive also..
why not do a Bidong-Yu-Skull Island escapade..
Only downside is have to bring the compressor for tank refilling..:)

Cheers

Spazm, you are absolutely right! Pulau Bidong is extremely nice and pristine... with a hint of mystery :-) Wonder how "Skull Island" gets its name.. On the camp and dive series, we will get the chance to dive (almost) all the key dive sites in Bidong and overnighting on Bidong Besar (fancy BBQ dinner with a nice bonfire?) A definite must-do! We are likely to kick-start the trip in March, do come and join us.

Ari:

M glad u r still operating Alu Alu. I do hope the service level has improved coz my past experience wasn't exactly encouraging. And I noticed that u no longer managing the dive facilities @ Arowana. That's good, i think, fro the sake of Alu Alu!

Anyway, I am hoping to dive in Bidong and its nearby islands as well. I went to snorkel around Bidong during Raya Puasa break and found the water really nice and clear. I was staying on the mainland and rent a boat to go to Bidong and nearby islands.

Hope u can organize trips for those who want to go to the islands from the mainland probably taking the boat from the same jetty that takes tourists to Redang.

Hi Izham! Great to hear from you again..Hope you can find the time to dive again next year with your busy schedule and all. Thanks for the comment but we are improving every year and comments from people like you that will make us better and better. Bidong is wonderful, I agree and we will consider your suggestion. Hope you'll come back to dive with us again and I guarantee that our service has improved by leaps and bounds :-)

Hi - I was on Perhentian's when you were first operating - there was a really good crowd of instructors, I was wondering if you still had any of the same faces? also what happened with the day boat that goes over to Redang ? any pictures of it - I am trying to get my boyfriend to take me back to the beautiful Perhentians

Hi Ari
Sarah & I regard you as old friends and are definitely returning in August 2007. Who should we expect to see on the dive team this year? Nice to see Lrong & Yoshimi returned last year. Best Wishes

Thanks for your unconstructive criticism Dee but I think you may have mistaken us for some other places. And since you never dive with us before, you may not be in a good position to comment. Why not come and pay us a visit. We welcome all divers, pro or not.
