Snorkeling
Diving isn't the only way to
enjoy Perhentian's spectacular reef system! Unique to Perhentian, the
majority of the dive sites begin at 6m and no deeper than 12m, thus making it
easy for snorkelers to enjoy the natural splendors of the underwater world.
While snorkeling, you'll marvel at the clear blue shimmering waters, colorful
marine life and corals under a sparkling sun. The clear warm waters create
extra buoyancy for swimmers which allows anyone to feel comfortable while
exploring the reefs with a mask and snorkel.
With many fringing reefs encompassing both islands, snorkeling is excellent
here! You will be rewarded with sightings of black tip sharks, green and
hawksbill turtles, bumphead parrotfish and colourful reef fishes during your
snorkeling trips. Either our half day trip or full day snorkeling tour
- FUN is guaranteed!
If space permitting, snorkelers can also accompany the divers on the boat for
some snorkeling. Many of our dive sites are very well suited for snorkelling,
with shallow reef tops and little or no current.
We can also organise a dedicated snorkel boat to take you out to one of the
great snorkelling reefs around both Big and Small Island as well as the outer island of Pulau Rawa archipelago. The reefs are shallow,
colourful and generally without any current. Especially Pulau Rawa is great, as
there is a shallow lagoon with beautiful turquoise water and a small,
uninhabited island with pristine powder white sandy beach. Why not make it a
picnic? Order one of our delicious box lunches from The Bistro.
Snorkeling Day Trip can also be arranged to the neighbouring islands of Lang
Tengah and Redang. Along with
Perhentian, these islands make up part of the richly diverse biodiversity of
Terengganu Marine Parks.

experience the jungle? The majority rainforest surrounding Perhentian Islands has been preserved and are virgin grounds. Leave civilization behind as you
wander up the hillside on easy trails. The waves of the ocean will fade in the
distance as the sounds of the jungle surround you. Take your time to
watch for monkeys, flying foxes, lemurs, beautiful and rare birds, and monitor
lizards!

the flora & fauna and marvel at the cornucopia of trees. Some trails will
lead you to secluded coves with nothing but white sandy beach and soft waves of
the sea. Other trails will lead to you beautiful waterfalls with water so fresh
and cool inviting you for a dip. You'll definitely want to take pictures and
share your stories.
